At the #AIActionSummit in Paris, President Ursula von der Leyen announced the new EU InvestAI initiative, aiming to mobilise €200 billion in AI investment to strengthen Europe’s leadership in artificial intelligence.
To make Europe one of the leading AI continents, the EU will focus on major initiatives like:
🇪🇺 AI Factories and AI GigaFactories – 12 AI hubs providing scientists and start-ups with access to world-class EuroHPC supercomputers, ensuring AI is trained on high-quality industrial and public data. AI GigaFactories will establish large-scale computing infrastructures, making AI computing power accessible to all, not just a few, inspired by Europe’s success with CERN.
Europe’s AI ecosystem is already expanding rapidly:

➡️ The highest number of AI professionals per capita globally
➡️ A strong industrial base and a wealth of data
Leveraging AI to its full potential to make Europe an AI continent is a top priority for this Commission.
