Ilija Vuckov a Brussels-Skopje-Istanbul-based MD and EU Climate Pact Ambassador (DG CLIMA) and Senior Expert for Access to Finance & EU Funds, with over 18 years in EU funding strategy and more than 20 years of leadership across the private, academic, and civil-society sectors. His domain portfolio spans agriculture & agri-tech, waste management, smart cities, climate action and the green transition, energy systems, entrepreneurship, and industrial design.
As Managing Director of the ACRID Network and co-founder of the European Excellence Center — SPACE Park Skopje, Ilija architects Erasmus+ (CoVE/Alliances), Horizon Europe, Interreg and IPA initiatives that translate public investment into market outcomes. He has designed and delivered 100+ trainings and coaching programs across the Western Balkans (WBC) and Southeast Europe (SEE). Ilija collaborates with numerus European consultants and experts organization on advisory for capital cities and universities in SEE; he is an active member of K4I—Knowledge4Innovation (a policy community connected to the European Parliament) and a former member of EBAN—European Business Angels Association.
He helped launch e-learning resources for circular economy and zero-waste and leads the multi-country ACRID Platform for collaboration and skills. Educated across Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, and now upcoming commencing courses further on executive studies at INSEAD France, he works fluently in English, speaks Serbian/Croatian/Bulgarian, and understands Turkish and Greek.
