Representatives from EMKICE KIC held a high-level working meeting with Afrim Gashi, President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, to present Innovators Magazine and discuss strategic cooperation between candidate countries’ parliaments and European Union institutions.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between candidate country parliaments and EU bodies in Brussels, coordinated by the Knowledge4Innovation (K4I) Forum in the European Parliament.
€4 Million Digital Literacy & AI Project for Parliamentary Staff
A central topic of the discussion was the rollout of a flagship initiative titled:
“Digital Literacy for Parliamentary Employees: Candidate Countries’ Parliaments in Digital Transition and AI”
Key details of the project include:
Timeline & Budget: Scheduled for 2025–2026 with a allocated budget of €4 million.
Participating Parliaments: Partnership between EU member states and six candidate countries — Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Turkey.
Core Objectives: Enhancing the digital competencies and AI readiness of parliamentary staff, fostering modern e-governance practices, and aligning candidate parliaments with EU digital standards.
Knowledge Exchange: Over the next two years, the initiative will facilitate structured events and working visits to the European Parliament in Brussels.

During the session, EMKICE KIC presented a special milestone edition of Innovators Magazine, celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2025.
Produced in collaboration with Allied4Future (A4F), the special issue highlights the inaugural World Future Forum in Lisbon, themed “A Conversation That Will Define Tomorrow’s World.”
