The ELeVATE project has as an objective to develop pathways to overcome the obstacles preventing girls and women from pursuing a VET career in the net-zero technologies for the Smart Electricity for Buildings (SEB) sector defined as applications of low voltage electricity produced by renewable energy sources and to increase the participation of women in the sector.

The project aims to increase the participation of girls and women in the green technology sector through targeted vocational education and training (VET) interventions. By partnering with local, regional, and national authorities, and education providers, the project seeks to create a blueprint of good practices to attract, educate, and mentor women into green tech careers.

More specifically, the project is conceived to directly tackle the above challenges by implementing key activities aligned with the Erasmus “Policy Experimentation” call:

  • Enhancing Education and Training: Developing and delivering tailored educational and vocational training programs that meet the specific needs of women and girls interested in green technologies.
  • Mentorship and Role Modeling: Establishing a robust mentorship program that combines the influence of role models and the guidance of mentors to inspire and support women through their educational and career journeys.
  • Awareness and Advocacy: Conduct awareness campaigns to change perceptions about women’s roles in STEM and to promote the benefits of diversity in the green tech sector.
  • Building Networks: Creating networks that connect women to peers, mentors, and role models in the green tech industry, fostering a supportive community that encourages career advancement and skill development.
